Description of Professional Services

Responsible for preliminary site selection and engineering evaluations, acquisition activities, final plans, specifications, construction estimates, construction inspection and administration for fifteen projects at various locations in New Hampshire. Several projects include multi-discipline management including structural, electrical, and HVAC design. Cooperation and collaboration with State, Town officials, and community interaction were essential elements to attain success with each project. Project examples include:

  • Hilton Park, Dover, New Hampshire. Preliminary analysis of Hilton Park to determine site availability to provide an all-tide boat launch. Study determined site in park is suitable for an all-tide launch if breakwaters are constructed to protect launch site from tidal flows. The NH Department of Environmental Services requested further evaluation of design and permitting requirements and options at site. Potential construction estimated at $700,000.

  • Boat Access Area Upgrade, Lambert Park, Hooksett. Responsible for plan presentation at scoping meetings. Met with local task force to resolve issues. Provided full design services for existing facility improvements, including 48 car parking lot, 200 foot access road, landscaping, a 100 foot, double wide concrete plank boat ramp. The 2.6-acre park is located on a sensitive in-town site, the firm worked closely with a neighborhood task force during design process.

  • New Recreation Area, Merrimack River, Litchfield. Management and design for site access and improvements to 6.9-acre site, including 400-foot access road, 23 parking spaces, a 300-foot walkway to River’s edge, viewing platform, and landscaping.

  • New Recreation Area, Pemigewasset Lake, New Hampton. Landscaping and design services for 100-foot access road, parking lot, and 100-foot walkway to a fishing pier. Performed construction inspection and administration.

  • Boat Access Area Upgrade, Powwow Pond, Kingston. Management and design for plan presentation at scoping meeting. Site improvements included 12 parking spaces, a 30-meter concrete plank boat ramp, and landscaping. Assisted with permitting of this 0.4-acre site.

  • Recreation Area Upgrade, Saltmarsh Pond, Gilford. Responsible for plan presentation at scoping meeting. Site improvements included 180-meter access road, 17 parking spaces, 15-meter concrete plank boat ramp, toilet building, and additional landscaping. Also provided permitting assistance.

  • Reconstruction of Boat Access Area, Beaver Lake, Derry. Plan presentation at scoping meetings. Participated in meetings with local task force to resolve issues. Project involved construction of a new concrete low-lift access ramp, 20-car parking lot, and 300-meter access road. Site is sensitive due to close proximity of a Town-owned beach, local use of the access area, and nearby residential camps.

  • All-Tide Boat Launch Area, Chapmans Landing. Design of new 150-meter access road, 20-space paved parking area, toilet building, and stone rip-rap for embankment erosion control for the site along the Squamscott River. Construction phase services included inspection and administration.

  • Site Restoration and Boat Access Improvements, Adams Point, Great Bay. Upgrade of gravel parking area and approach and a new concrete boat ramp for access at high tide in tidal marsh. Existing facility was in need of repair from use and tidal influence. Due to sensitive nature of site, special turf stone was used in place of asphalt to allow for increased permeability. Construction inspection and construction administration.
