Description of Professional Services

Engineering planning and design services for replacement of bridge spanning Salmon Brook. Submitted construction plans for 24-foot, clear-span precast concrete arch structure and related roadway widening and approach work. Design incorporated municipal storm drainage and sanitary sewer lines. Structure is designed to HS-25 truck loadings in accordance with AASHTO criteria. Technical specifications, quantity cost estimates and construction documents were also prepared.

Engineering planning study evaluated existing and proposed hydrologic and hydraulic conditions utilizing HEC-1 and HEC-2 software, various bridge types including concrete steel and timber, soil borings, alternative horizontal and vertical alignments, traffic control plans and construction cost estimates. Project permits included local, state (NHDES) and federal (Corps) wetlands clearances. Provided construction engineering services for bid and construction phase, resident inspection and post construction services. Coordinated public notification, bid advertisements, pre-bid meetings, preparation of certified bid tabulations, pre-construction meetings, shop drawing and submittal reviews, change orders, pay estimates, overseeing of construction by a qualified engineer, verification of quantities placed and preparation of record drawings.
