CAD REVIT Designer

 

DuBois & King, Inc., is seeking a CAD REVIT Designer with 3–7 years of CAD REVIT designer experience to be based in our rapidly growing Building Services division.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare technical reports and fire alarm drawings.
  • Conduct field surveys of existing buildings.
  • Work with Special Inspections and Code Consulting teams to provide fully integrated fire and life safety solutions in response to client project needs.
  • Manage multiple project deadlines with varying priorities.
  • Represent the company in a professional manner in all dealings with owners, architects, vendors, other design professionals and contractors.
  • Enhance the firm’s reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing internal and external client requests.
  • Demonstrate core values and serves as a role model/mentor to all firm members.
  • Update job knowledge and technical expertise by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, participating in technical organizations and obtaining certifications in area of expertise and participating in the firm’s Technical Committee as requested.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Associates or Bachelor’s degree in engineering required
  • Minimum of 3-7 years’ experience
  • Experience to include: Facilities surveys, reports, feasibility studies, design, specifications, cost estimating, and construction activity support.
  • Knowledge of Engineering drafting standards
  • Demonstrable understanding of construction process and interpretation of construction drawings.
  • Knowledge of AutoCad, REVIT and Microsoft Office suite
  • Good communication skills
  • Other Skills/Abilities: Team oriented, professional, self-starter, with positive attitude and multi-tasking capability
  • Knowledge of building code standards preferred

Civil Project Manager/Engineer

 

DuBois & King is currently hiring a Project Manager/Engineer to join the Public Works Division. Our progressive firm is looking to add a licensed civil or environmental engineer with 8 to 20 years of experience who wants a team leadership role with growth potential. You will be mentored by the director of the division and you will serve as a mentor to junior engineers.

Responsibilities

  • Provide operational and project management support to the Regional Director
  • Provide management and technical development of a variety of civil projects with a strong emphasis on municipal and industrial water and wastewater
  • Develop business and build client relationships
  • Lead project teams in preparing conceptual, preliminary and final design and managing projects through construction
  • Oversee work, quality control, client coordination and all daily operational aspects of projects assigned to you
  • Prepare regulatory permit applications for a wide range of projects.
  • Prepare proposals, scopes of work, and project schedules that adhere to deadlines and budgets.
  • Mentor and train junior engineers on various project assignments
  • Share accountability with the other team members within the division

Minimum Qualifications

    • 8 years of experience in Civil Engineering
    • BS/MS in Civil or Environmental Engineering
    • Civil or Environmental P.E. license in Vermont, or ability to obtain licensure by reciprocity
    • Experience with Vermont sector clients and regulations
    • Previous leadership and project management experience
    • AutoCAD Civil 3D

Environmental Engineer

 

D&K is seeking a civil/environmental engineer with 0 to 5 years of experience conducting design and producing engineering drawings for civil and/or environmental based projects.

This position will provide the opportunity to work directly with clients and advance projects that include a wide variety of civil, and environmental projects focused on design services for water resource projects, commercial development, agricultural facilities, recreational facilities, and municipal infrastructure projects.

Duties include engineering-based planning, design, and construction phase assignments on a range of projects. The ideal candidate will be a well-organized, skilled communicator, and a team player. The position requires proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D; preference may be given to applicants with knowledge in ArcGIS.

Responsibilities

  • Will work on engineering, writing, schedule and budget management, to client coordination and other general project engineering duties.
  • Provide conceptual, preliminary and final design engineering and construction management under the direction of a project manager for a variety of civil engineering projects. Work tasks are likely to include: Investigations, research, calculations, evaluation of alternatives, development of design details, plan and technical specification development and cost estimating.
  • Conduct site reviews as needed for feasibility studies, planning, and design projects.
  • Establish a working relationship with the other staff, and be an effective team member of the Environmental Services Division.

Qualifications:

  • Ability to work well with others in a collaborative team environment
  • B.S. degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering
  • Approx. 0-5 years’ previous experience
  • EIT License requirement
  • Proficiency in AutoCad Civil 3D preferred
  • ArcGIS skills preferred

Environmental Planner/NEPA Specialist

 

DuBois & King is seeking a NEPA Specialist/Environmental Planner with 7+ years of experience. This is a full-time position with benefits and opportunities for professional growth. Primary duties of the NEPA Specialist/Environmental Planner are to provide technical NEPA guidance; preparation of NEPA documents, preparation, planning, managing, and/or analysis/review of technical studies; other writing assignments as necessary; assistance with public outreach activities; and oversight of all aspects of environmental projects including scope, schedule, and budget. An understanding of state and federal environmental processes and the ability to coordinate/establish relationships with numerous resource agencies is key to the success of this position. You will be expected to immediately impact our firm as we seek the best methods to serve our clients. You must exhibit a professional attitude, visionary thinking, innovative ideas, analytical problem solving and a willingness to collaborate while having the ability to work independently.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the coordination and management of assigned NEPA – related projects within the firm
  • Implements effective strategies to complete and streamline environmental documentation
  • Coordinates with state and federal resource agencies
  • Plan, direct and monitor all aspects of small to large multidiscipline projects with a high degree of technical complexity.
  • Prepare and review technical analyses and documents, proposals and/or qualifications information.
  • Perform financial management of environmental planning, permitting and compliance tasks and projects.
  • Provide support and expertise for environmental planning and permitting.
  • Maintain an understanding of emerging regulations and industry requirements.
  • Work closely with business development and project delivery teams to win and deliver projects.
  • Developing execution strategies for planning and permitting projects
  • Mentoring staff to expand their understanding of technical and business aspects.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Planning, Urban Planning, Environmental Science, or related field, professional certification/license is preferred (e.g. AICP, PWS, Certified Ecologist, CP)
  • Seven (7) years of experience in the environmental field
  • Knowledge of the Endangered Species Act, National Historic Preservation Act, Clean Water Act, Clean Air Act
  • Ability to manage study specialists and sub-consultants
  • Demonstrates creativity, foresight, and mature judgement in anticipating and solving problems
  • Ability to effectively manage concurrent projects and deadlines
  • Strong teambuilding skills
  • Strong presentation and interpersonal communication skills
  • Excellent writing, editing and verbal communication skills required.
  • Able to collaborate with other design disciplines

Senior Bridge Engineer

 

DuBois & King is seeking a Sr. Bridge Engineer with 8 or more years of experience working on municipal and state highway bridge projects. The position will be responsible for technical task management, leading bridge design tasks, staff development, and assist with business development. The position will play a key role in the development and growth of our employee-owned firm, which is well-known and respected throughout New England and elsewhere in the United States.

Responsibilities to include:

  • Structural design codes including AASHTO LRFD and AASHTO LRFR
  • Structure design software including MIDAS,
  • Familiarity with providing services to NHDOT and/or VTrans
  • Ability to mentor and develop staff
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work within fast-paced, team-oriented workplace.
  • Completing and checking complex engineering calculations, plans, specifications, and estimates for the designs of concrete and precast decks, steel and concrete superstructures, integral and semi-integral abutments, wingwalls, culverts and retaining walls.
  • Management of technical tasks and relevant staff.
  • Provide operational and project management support to the bridge lead.
  • Provide technical development of a variety of bridge projects of various sizes and designs.
  • Prepare conceptual, preliminary, and final design documents.
  • Oversee work, quality control, client coordination and all daily technical aspects of projects assigned to you.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 8 plus years of experience in Bridge Engineering
  • BS/MS in Civil Engineering
  • PE License preferred
  • Demonstrated technical experience
  • Micro-station and/or AutoCAD Civil 3D experience
  • Working knowledge of AASHTO Design Guidelines
