Brattleboro School Energy Efficiency Upgrades

DuBois & King provided electrical and mechanical design services for energy upgrades for the renovation and expansion of the Brattleboro school, a grade 6-12 education facility. Services addressed deficiencies in existing buildings and provided engineering for new building construction. Efficiency upgrades included daylighting controls; occupancy sensors; heat recovery system; high efficiency air conditioning system; wood chip boiler technology for primary heat source; CO2 sensors; VFDs on select air handling heat pumps; and DDC technology to optimize HVAC equipment operation to establish setback schedules and monitor energy usage. Provided design, permitting, bidding, and construction phase services, and total energy modeling for 336,000 sf campus in conjunction with Efficiency Vermont.
