Provided construction inspection services for reconstruction and repair of approximately 1,500 lf of sidewalks and curbing along the north side of Union Street. The project includes landscaping and new planting islands, and the reconstruction of the Silver Street/Union Street intersection including regrading and resurfacing, new drainage structures, and new crosswalks. Project was administered by VTrans through the LTF Section. Prepared daily reports, participated in construction status meetings and distributed a record of discussions/decisions, arranged testing by an independent laboratory, and checked that materials were in compliance with the VTrans Pre-Approved Materials List and List of Materials with Advance Certification.
Construction Inspection and Testing Services, Bike Path/Sidewalk
Full-time construction inspection services for the construction of a new 10-ft-wide, bituminous concrete bike and pedestrian path, including drainage, signing, striping, landscaping, and related structures. Project was funded and administered in part by VTrans’ LTF Section. Prepared daily reports; participated at construction status meetings; prepared Contractor’s progress payment estimates; issued Certificate of Substantial Completion and Final Inspection; performed erosion control monitoring in accordance with applicable permits; reviewed/verified traffic control; inspected work completed by the Contractor; arranged testing by an independent laboratory and ensured that the laboratory was performing preliminary process control tests on material samples in accordance with VTrans requirements; and checked materials for compliance with VTrans Pre-approved Materials List and List of Materials with Advanced Certification.
Bid/Construction Inspection Services, Combined Sewer Overflow (CSO) Improvements
Bid/construction phase services for Combined Sewer Overflow Elimination Contract, an ARRA funded project. Coordinated a pre-bid conference, attended bid openings, and prepared Contract Documents. Reviewed shop drawings, field test data, samples, and requests for payment; prepared change orders; and coordinated meetings with the City and funding agency. Observed Contractors work and schedule and reviewed materials testing. Close coordination with the City, Contractor, local businesses, and public for pedestrian and traffic control.

DuBois & King provides construction administration, bid phase, and observation/resident engineering services for projects designed by the firm and for projects designed by others. As the owner’s representative, D&K field staff operate as the liaison between the owner and the contractor to obtain contractor adherence to project design, schedule, and budget. Services are provided to municipal, federal, state, institutional, and commercial clients for a range of projects including roadways, sidewalks, bridges, dams, wastewater facilities, airports, stormwater, and site improvements.
