Commissioning Agent and Mechanical Engineer

 

DuBois & King, Inc. is seeking a Commissioning Agent / Mechanical Engineer with approximately 5 years of experience.  This is a full-time position with full benefits in our busy and growing Building Services division.

Responsibilities:

  • Cx and RCx services to a diverse range of clients
  • Early-stage development of basis of design documentation through the final testing of MEP systems.
  • Knowledge of Cx process, standards, and methodology is required.
  • Mechanical-HVAC engineering and design responsibilities will occasionally be required.
  • Travel is occasionally required.

Minimum Qualifications

 

  • S. in Mechanical Engineering is preferred
  • PE License in VT & NH required
  • Cx certification preferred
  • AutoCAD-MEP experience perferred
  • REVIT experience is preferred

Plumbing Engineer and Designer

 

DuBois & King, Inc. is seeking an experienced plumbing designer with approximately 2-5 years of experience. This is a full time engineering position in our growing Mechanical Engineering Group. Our markets include healthcare, commercial, industrial, institutional, and government projects throughout New England. This position will be based out of our Bedford, NH office.

 Responsibilities

  • Preparing calculations under the supervision of an experienced engineer using current material and building codes and relevant design standards.
  • Ability to work in Revit to assist with the preparation of drawings and sketches including completion of redlines.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Conducting site visits to survey existing conditions or review project conformance with plans.
  • Flexibility with schedule to accommodate project requirements as necessary.

Minimum Qualifications

  • AutoCAD and Revit proficiency required and comfortable with engineering design software.
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in civil or structural engineering is preferred.
  • Strong technical skills combined with clear, concise written and verbal communication skills are important.

Construction Services Manager

 

DuBois & King is seeking a Construction Services Manager with 6 or more years of experience.  This is a full time position that can be based in our Vermont or New Hampshire offices.

Supervisory Requirements

  • Hire and supervise construction observation and field office staff
  • Develop and maintain team construction observation standards
  • Develop staffing plans and schedules to meet workload requirements, delivering quality service in compliance with client requirements and expectations
  • Be able to follow and adhere to all local, state and federal OSHA requirements
  • Provide advice to in-house design staff regarding constructability
  • Work collaboratively with other D&K staff, mentoring and training of junior staff to encourage involvement with design reviews, cost estimating, specification preparation, and promotion of construction phase services
  • Manage sub-consultants

Project Responsibilities

  • Perform construction phase administrator tasks such as:
    • Review work identified in the project drawings and specifications
    • Manage quality control of construction services
    • Manage bid phase activities
    • Manage submittal reviews
    • Review contractor payment applications and prepare change orders
    • Perform constructability and bid-ability revisions
    • Prepare documents for execution
    • Conduct preconstruction and biweekly meetings
    • Manage project closeout activities

Business Development Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain a solid working relationship with clients, including former clients and municipalities’ region-wide.
  • Perform networking activities.
  • Prepare agreements for construction phase services including determination of labor and reimbursable expense cost; Including fee development and negotiation of fees.
  • Prepare proposals in response to RFP’s for construction phase services
  • Contact and market construction phase services to communities, private enterprises, state and federal agencies.
  • Maintain and/or improve procedures/protocol for managing the construction services department.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 6-12 years of experience managing construction projects
  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher
  • Experience with public and private sector clients
  • Experience leading and managing a team
  • Willingness to travel up to 20% of the time
  • Strong writing and verbal skills

NEPA Specialist and Environmental Planner

 

DuBois & King is seeking a NEPA Specialist/Environmental Planner with 7+ years of experience. This is a full-time position with benefits and opportunities for professional growth. Primary duties of the NEPA Specialist/Environmental Planner are to provide technical NEPA guidance; preparation of NEPA documents, preparation, planning, managing, and/or analysis/review of technical studies; other writing assignments as necessary; assistance with public outreach activities; and oversight of all aspects of environmental projects including scope, schedule, and budget. An understanding of state and federal environmental processes and the ability to coordinate/establish relationships with numerous resource agencies is key to the success of this position. You will be expected to immediately impact our firm as we seek the best methods to serve our clients. You must exhibit a professional attitude, visionary thinking, innovative ideas, analytical problem solving and a willingness to collaborate while having the ability to work independently.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the coordination and management of assigned NEPA – related projects within the firm
  • Implements effective strategies to complete and streamline environmental documentation
  • Coordinates with state and federal resource agencies
  • Plan, direct and monitor all aspects of small to large multidiscipline projects with a high degree of technical complexity.
  • Prepare and review technical analyses and documents, proposals and/or qualifications information.
  • Perform financial management of environmental planning, permitting and compliance tasks and projects.
  • Provide support and expertise for environmental planning and permitting.
  • Maintain an understanding of emerging regulations and industry requirements.
  • Work closely with business development and project delivery teams to win and deliver projects.
  • Developing execution strategies for planning and permitting projects
  • Mentoring staff to expand their understanding of technical and business aspects.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Planning, Urban Planning, Environmental Science, or related field, professional certification/license is preferred (e.g. AICP, PWS, Certified Ecologist, CP)
  • Seven (7) years of experience in the environmental field
  • Knowledge of the Endangered Species Act, National Historic Preservation Act, Clean Water Act, Clean Air Act
  • Ability to manage study specialists and sub-consultants
  • Demonstrates creativity, foresight, and mature judgement in anticipating and solving problems
  • Ability to effectively manage concurrent projects and deadlines
  • Strong teambuilding skills
  • Strong presentation and interpersonal communication skills
  • Excellent writing, editing and verbal communication skills required.
  • Able to collaborate with other design disciplines

Electrical Engineer / Designer

 

DuBois & King, Inc. is currently hiring for an electrical engineer/designer with experience from 0 to 10 years in site, building systems, and/or infrastructure design.

Responsibilities

  • Duties shall include preparation of reports, CAD, and specifications for all types of projects related to site development, buildings, HVAC and electrical processes and controls.
  • Establish a working relationship with the other staff, and be an effective team member of the Division.
  • Assist in the development and preparation of plans, specifications, and estimates.
  • Conduct site reviews as needed for feasibility studies, planning, and design projects.
  • Learning key engineering software, such as AutoCAD, Revit and other programs/conventions.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in electrical engineering is required
  • FE preferred or  obtained within first 6 months of employment.
  • PE is preferred
  • AutoCAD and/or Revit experience is preferred.
