The DuBois & King Bridge Department Manager is a senior engineering management position that reports directly to the Director of Transportation. In general, qualified candidates will demonstrate experience providing and will be responsible for project planning, inspection, design, management, and business development. The position is located in Bedford, New Hampshire, but the firm will consider qualified candidates residing outside of the immediate area.

Engineering/technical responsibilities include planning, inspection phase duties, design, and management, including hands-on involvement for a wide range of bridge engineering-related functions for government and privately-owned bridges. Qualified individuals will demonstrate experience with and will be responsible for leading projects in evaluation, concept, design, bid, and construction phases.

Qualified candidates will possess the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree (preferred)
  • 10 years of bridge design experience
  • 3 years of bridge design lead experience
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license (required)
  • Strong working knowledge of AASHTO bridge design standards
  • US work authorization (required)

The preferred candidate should have experience leading water or wastewater treatment projects in the Northeast from design through construction. Duties will include the development of environmental permits and documents related to the federal requirements of state (VT, NH, ME, and MA) and federal agencies including NRCS, ACOE, FAA, and FHWA. Qualified candidates must possess a working knowledge of NEPA and the environmental permitting process in New England. Strong writing and communication skills are required for this position.  Experience with water quality and/or natural resource planning is considered is highly desirable.

D&K is seeking an engineer with 2 to 5 years of experience, an EIT, and a Bachelor’s degree or higher in civil engineering from an ABET/EAC-accredited institution. Duties include engineering-based planning, design, and construction phase assignments on a range of airfield projects. The ideal candidate will be a well-organized, skilled communicator, and a team player. The position requires proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D; preference may be given to applicants with knowledge of ArcGIS and an aptitude with languages such as Java and HTML. The position requires the ability to lead airport improvement design projects from start to finish, including the following design items and tasks:

  • Horizontal and vertical geometry
  • Grading and drainage

DuBois & King, Inc. is seeking a Licensed Surveyor looking for opportunities for growth, with 10 to 15 years of experience to work in New Hampshire. The applicant will be responsible for boundary services while, providing leadership to survey teams in support of D&K’s NH, ME, VT, and MA operations. This opportunity includes responsibilities to support engineering projects by completing a variety of field survey procedures including linear topographic survey, boundary surveys, and construction layout; managing projects, taking an active role in client relations, developing proposals, researching land records, and preparing plans. The position provides opportunities for regular participation in business development, staff growth and mentoring, and strategic planning. Specific preferences include 10 to 15 years of relevant experience (though the firm is willing to mentor and train the right individual) and an active LS license with a desire to obtain an LS License in NH, ME, VT, and MA. Preference will be given to applicants with leadership experience, strong communication skills, and a desire for growth including managing personnel as well as projects. Experience with business development or NH, VT, and MA public sector clients is preferred.

DuBois & King, Inc. is seeking a draftsperson/rodman to work in the survey department and assist with field work as well as drafting base plans. Time will be split between the field and office as workload demands. The applicant will be responsible for “field to finish” products, for which the applicant will assist with field data capture, and see the product through to a polished base map. This opportunity has room for growth with long-term career possibilities. Preference will be given to individuals with over five years of relevant experience (though the firm is willing to train the right individual). Experience with MicroStation, AutoCAD or point clouds is desirable. Preference will be given to applicants with a strong drafting background and previous MicroStation experience.

The engineer’s duties include calculations, designs, REVIT drafting and detailing. Must be AutoCAD- and REVIT-proficient and comfortable with other engineering design software. DuBois & King is seeking a Senior Dam Engineer with approximately 10 to 15 years (or more) of experience.  This is a full-time senior engineering position with full benefits in our busy and growing Dam Engineering Group.  Duties will include safety inspection, evaluation, planning, design, plan development, technical specification preparation of contract documents, and construction inspection of dam projects.  Technical experience in geotechnical/foundations, structural concrete, earth embankments is required. Related experience in hydrology & hydraulics and permitting is a plus. Experience with applicable FERC dam safety design criteria and state/federal regulations, client development, client interaction, meetings, construction cost estimating, AutoCAD is desirable.  A VT or NH PE or ability to obtain within 6-12 months is required.

Responsibilities will include typical early-stage development of basis of design documentation through the final testing of MEP systems.  Knowledge of Cx process, standards, and methodology is required.
