Civil & Environmental Project Manager

 

DuBois & King is currently hiring a Project Manager to join the Public Works Division. Our firm is looking to add a civil or environmental engineer with 5+ years of experience who wants a team leadership role with growth potential. You will be mentored by the director of the division and you will serve as a mentor to junior engineers.

Responsibilities

  • Provide operational and project management support to the Regional Director
  • Provide management and technical development of a variety of civil projects with a strong emphasis on municipal and industrial water and wastewater
  • Develop business and build client relationships
  • Lead project teams in preparing conceptual, preliminary and final design and managing projects through construction
  • Oversee work, quality control, client coordination and all daily operational aspects of projects assigned to you
  • Prepare regulatory permit applications for a wide range of projects.
  • Prepare proposals, scopes of work, and project schedules that adhere to deadlines and budgets.
  • Mentor and train junior engineers on various project assignments
  • Share accountability with the other team members within the division

Qualifications

  • 5 – 15 years of experience in Civil or Environmental Engineering
  • BS/MS in Civil or Environmental Engineering
  • Preferred Civil or Environmental P.E. license
  • Previous leadership and project management experience
  • Experience with environmental permitting is a plus
  • AutoCAD Civil 3D

Compensation Range:

The salary range for this position is $90,000 – $120,000, plus employees may be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. Actual compensation will be dependent upon the individual’s skills, experience, qualifications, location, and applicable employment laws. Marketing Associate

 

DuBois & King (D&K) seeks a self-motivated Marketing Associate with 8 to 12 years of experience to join the collaborative Marketing and Business Development team in a growing engineering firm. D&K provides diverse professional consulting services ranging from mechanical or civil engineering to wetland science to municipal master planning throughout the Northeast and beyond.

Subject: Marketing Associate position 

The preferred candidate will have a strong work ethic, creative energy, and be organized and proficient at juggling multiple priorities under strict deadlines while working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. 

Responsabilities:

  • Develop proposals (write, copyedit, and proofread), qualifications packages, outlines, and agendas. 
  • Proofread and copyedit marketing materials. 
  • Manage large amounts of information. 
  • Mentor junior staff on proposal development and assist with maintaining the proposal schedule. 
  • Search for, identify, and distribute proposal solicitations as directed by the Marketing Manager and Marketing Director.

  • Create and deliver marketing and promotional materials, both print and electronic. 
  • Establish and maintain working relationships with other D&K staff and external teaming partners. 
  • Serve as an effective team member of the Marketing Division. 

Qualifications: 

  • Strong grammar, writing, and graphic design skills

  • Mac-based Adobe Creative Suite (required)
  • Google and Microsoft applications (optional) 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or Communications or a similar field plus 8 years of experience.

Construction Services Manager

 

DuBois & King is seeking a Construction Services Manager with 10+ or more years of experience.  This is a full time position that can be based in our Vermont or New Hampshire offices.

Supervisory Requirements

  • Hire and supervise construction observation and field office staff
  • Develop and maintain team construction observation standards
  • Develop staffing plans and schedules to meet workload requirements, delivering quality service in compliance with client requirements and expectations
  • Be able to follow and adhere to all local, state and federal OSHA requirements
  • Provide advice to in-house design staff regarding constructability
  • Work collaboratively with other D&K staff, mentoring and training of junior staff to encourage involvement with design reviews, cost estimating, specification preparation, and promotion of construction phase services
  • Manage sub-consultants

Project Responsibilities

  • Perform construction phase administrator tasks such as:
    • Review work identified in the project drawings and specifications
    • Manage quality control of construction services
    • Manage bid phase activities
    • Manage submittal reviews
    • Review contractor payment applications and prepare change orders
    • Perform constructability and bid-ability revisions
    • Prepare documents for execution
    • Conduct preconstruction and biweekly meetings
    • Manage project closeout activities

Business Development Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain a solid working relationship with clients, including former clients and municipalities’ region-wide.
  • Perform networking activities.
  • Prepare agreements for construction phase services including determination of labor and reimbursable expense cost; Including fee development and negotiation of fees.
  • Prepare proposals in response to RFP’s for construction phase services
  • Contact and market construction phase services to communities, private enterprises, state and federal agencies.
  • Maintain and/or improve procedures/protocol for managing the construction services department.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience managing construction projects
  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher preferred, but not required
  • Experience with public and private sector clients
  • Experience leading and managing a team
  • Willingness to travel up to 20% of the time
  • Strong writing and verbal skills
