Allen Brook Flow Restoration Plan

Williston, Vermont

Allen Brook is included on the Vermont Agency of Natural Resources (VT ANR) Stormwater Impaired List (EPA’s approved 303(d) List). The Town of Williston was required to develop a Flow Restoration Plan (FRP) to remedy the situation as part of its Municipal Separate Storm Sewer (MS4) Permit. DuBois & King identified the necessary stormwater practices, which include updating expired stormwater permits to meet 2002 stormwater standards and Best Management Practices (BMPs) on Town parcels and VTrans I-89 rights of way. Services provided include identification of remediation measures, hydraulic modeling of BMP practices, collaboration with VTrans and the Town on the update of the VT DEC BMP-DSS, cost estimating, and regulatory analysis and permitting assistance as required.

The compilation of selected remediation measures and their associated effects in meeting the Total Maximum Daily Load (TMDL) goals was submitted for review to the Vermont Department of Environmental Conservation as the first of its kind flow restoration plan.
