DuBois & King provided survey, site/civil engineering, as well as Act 250, local, and wetlands impact permitting for a new financial facility. Civil engineering services included site layout, drainage, technical permitting, water line extension, utility connections, site grading, parking, and landscape design. Traffic and access studies were conducted to assess additional traffic at a key intersection of the busy US Route 7 corridor.

Planning for the project was carefully accomplished to allow development of a two-lot subdivision on a small parcel that included extensive Class II wetlands. Layout of the building and site improvements required detailed reviews of alternative drive-thru locations and aesthetic issues related to the projects visibility from Route 7.

The project was designed to meet LEED Gold Certification. As part of the LEED design initiative, D&K engineers worked closely with the Owner, Architect, and Landscape Architect to incorporate environmental and energy efficient measures into the project. These included design of pervious pavement, reduced use of paved areas for traffic circulation and parking, orientation of the building to allow solar energy use, and use of “green” stormwater treatment methods.
