Renovation and addition to an existing single story building. Multiple additions increased the building footprint by 4,500 sf. The existing structure consisted of wood trusses spanning between masonry and wood load bearing walls. The new structural framing consists of structural steel, wood trusses, and wood bearing walls. D&K provided structural design and construction administration services. Project documents were developed using building information modeling technology. The estimated construction value of the project is $2.7 million.
Green Mountain Power
D&K has provided structural, civil, and dam engineering services to Green Mountain Power in support of capital projects, regulatory inspections, and maintenance projects for power production and distribution networks. Services have consisted of dam safety and penstock inspections, failure investigations, design of new buildings and access platforms, geotechnical engineering, and design of foundations to support electrical equipment in substations. These services have been provided at multiple facilities and locations throughout the State of Vermont.
Dartmouth College Alumni Gym West Renovation
Replacement of roofing system and clerestory windows in Alumni Gym at Dartmouth College. D&K provided structural engineering for the evaluation of the existing roof framing and the design of the required reinforcement to carry the increased loading of the proposed roof modifications. Scope of services includes schematic design phase, preparation of design development and construction documents, and assistance during bidding/negotiation phase and with construction administration.
