DuBois & King, Inc., (D&K) is seeking experienced Resident Engineers/Inspectors for upcoming projects throughout the Northeast. Projects may include utilities, streets, highways, bridges, dams, and airports. Experience with NETTCP, AASHTO, VTrans, and/or FAA Standards is desired.
Responsibilities
- Must be able to read and comprehend construction documents (plans and specifications).
- Understand and work within the limits of Resident Engineer roles and responsibilities.
- Represent the firm in a professional manner at all times in front of contractors, owners, funding agencies, and the public.
- Observe and document daily construction progress through the preparation of daily field reports and maintaining a photographic record.
- Track installed quantities daily.
- Participate in the review of periodic payment requests and change orders.
- Collaborate with the project team daily.
- Understand and enforce quality requirements in accordance with the contract documents.
- Proactively communicate and manage time effectively.
- Accept feedback in a professionally appropriate and thoughtful manner.
- Lead by example via a work ethic and effort above-standard in the industry.
- Regular and predictable attendance with reliable transportation.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of field related construction observation experience.
- Software: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word preferred.
- A strong sense of urgency and initiative.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to act confidently and decisively.
