Electric Utilities
DuBois & King provides assessment, planning, and design for hydroelectric, solar, and gas cogeneration facilities. Structural engineers focus on evaluation of assets and support systems such as penstocks, powerhouses, cranes, bridges, access, dams, fall protection, intakes, stacks, lattice structures, and foundations. Mechanical engineers provide review, design, and commissioning for systems, such as heating, cooling, plumbing, air blast, rakers, and appurtenances. Our electrical engineers have in-depth knowledge of electrical high-voltage distribution systems ranging from 2.4kV to 69kV, electrical system planning, protective relaying, instrumentation and control systems, and grounding system design.
Team members perform detailed design and review, evaluate existing power systems, and develop technical specifications for new designs. We have expertise in electrical power system design and mapping. Specific services include detailed modeling, reports, design, field investigations, construction phase services, cost estimates, and structural inspection for a wide range of utility projects. Utility projects are supported by in-house civil and environmental engineers, planners, and permitting specialists.
