Commissioning Agent and Mechanical Engineer

 

DuBois & King, Inc. is seeking a Commissioning Agent / Mechanical Engineer with approximately 5 years of experience.  This is a full-time position with full benefits in our busy and growing Building Services division.

Responsibilities:

  • Cx and RCx services to a diverse range of clients
  • Early-stage development of basis of design documentation through the final testing of MEP systems.
  • Knowledge of Cx process, standards, and methodology is required.
  • Mechanical-HVAC engineering and design responsibilities will occasionally be required.
  • Travel is occasionally required.

Minimum Qualifications

 

  • S. in Mechanical Engineering is preferred
  • PE License in VT & NH required
  • Cx certification preferred
  • AutoCAD-MEP experience perferred
  • REVIT experience is preferred

Civil Site & Land Engineer

 

DuBois & King, Inc is seeking a Civil Engineer with approximately 5 – 10 years of experience. This is a full-time engineering position with full benefits in our busy and growing Site & Land division.

Responsibilities

  • Learning key engineering software, such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D and GIS programs/conventions.
  • Assist in the development and preparation of plans, specifications, and estimates.
  • Conduct site reviews as needed for feasibility studies, planning, and design projects.
  • Provide conceptual, preliminary, and final design civil engineering support for all divisions. These tasks are likely to include: investigation, research, calculations, evaluation of alternatives, and design development on a variety of projects.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Ability to work well with others in a collaborative team environment
  • B.S. degree in Civil Engineering
  • AutoCAD and  Civil 3D preferred
  • PE or ability to obtain one within 12 months preferred

Project Engineer, Public Works

 

DuBois & King, Inc., is seeking a Civil Project Engineer with 4-10 years of experience to join our Public Works Division. This role will be providing evaluation, planning, design, permitting assistance and construction phase services for municipal infrastructure projects, including surface transportation, aviation, civil/site land development, civil/site, stormwater management; general municipal utility work, project and client management and participation in related business development activities. Experience with ME public sector clients is preferred and LPA certification is desirable.

 

This position will provide the opportunity to work directly with clients and advance a variety of civil and environmental projects focused on design services for water resources, commercial development, agricultural facilities, recreational facilities, and municipal infrastructure.

 

Responsibilities

  • Provide operational and project management support to the Regional Director.
  • Responsibilities will range from engineering, writing, schedule and budget management, to client coordination and other general project engineering duties.
  • Provide conceptual, preliminary and final design engineering and construction management under the direction of a project manager for a variety of civil engineering projects. Work tasks are likely to include: Investigations, research, calculations, evaluation of alternatives, development of design details, plan and technical specification development and cost estimating.
  • Conduct site reviews as needed for feasibility studies, planning, and design projects.
  • Establish a working relationship with the other staff, and be an effective team member of the Public Works Division.
  • Study, design and construction of municipal infrastructure projects; including: utilities (stormwater, potable water, sanitary sewer).
  • Manage, design, develop, create and maintain small-scale through to large-scale projects in a safe, timely and sustainable manner.
  • Conduct on site investigations and analyze data (maps, reports, tests, drawings and other).
  • Carry out technical and feasibility studies and draw up blueprints that satisfy technical specifications.
  • Provide advice and resolve creatively any emerging problems/deficiencies.
  • Monitor progress and provide written reports in project status.
  • Help track budget purchases for equipment/materials.
  • Comply with regulatory guidelines regarding permitting, safety, etc., and deliver technical files and other technical documentation as required.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • B.S./M.S. degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering or related field
  • Approx. 4-10 years’ Civil or Environmental experience
  • P.E. Maine License requirement
  • Proven working experience in civil engineering, public works experience
  • Ability to work well with others in a collaborative team environment
  • Excellent knowledge of design and visualizations software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D or similar
  • Proficiency in site layout, grading, utility design, erosion control, regulatory approvals etc.
  • Understand the value of proactive communication, possess excellent written communication skills
  • Local community connections are helpful
  • Project management experience and skills

Staff Bridge Engineer

 

DuBois & King is seeking a Bridge Engineer with 0-5 or more years of experience holding a B.S. in Civil Engineering (a Master’s is preferred). This is a junior-level position that will include learning about and using engineering software and CADD for the development of bridge, retaining wall, and culvert design deliverables, including plans, specifications, and estimates.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Familiarity with providing services to NHDOT and VTrans
  • Ability to mentor entry level staff
  • Ability to work within fast-paced, team-oriented workplace.
  • Experience with structural design software packages is a plus.
  • Completing and checking engineering calculations, including quantity take offs, and structural engineering analysis and design
  • Advancement opportunities will be commensurate with education and experience

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 2-5 years of experience in Bridge Engineering
  • B.S./M.S. in Civil Engineering
  • MS Excel and CAD software experience, Microstation preferred
  • EIT License required
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Perform a variety of field survey procedures including linear topographic survey, boundary surveys, land record research and plan preparation, and construction layout
  • Taking an active role in client relations, researching land records, and preparing plans.
  • The position provides opportunities for regular participation in business development, staff growth and mentoring, and strategic planning.

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • 5 of relevant experience (though the firm is willing to mentor and train the right individual)
  • Active LS license, or the ability to obtain one in 12 months.
  • Ability to operate survey equipment; GPS, Total Station and Robotics is required. Preference will be given to applicants with leadership experience, strong communication skills, and a desire for growth including managing personnel as well as projects.
  • Experience with business development or public sector clients is preferred.
