Civil Project Engineer

 

DuBois & King, Inc., is seeking a Civil Project Engineer with 3-8 years of experience to join our Public Works Division. This role will be providing evaluation, planning, design, permitting assistance and construction phase services for municipal infrastructure projects, including surface transportation, aviation, civil/site land development, civil/site, stormwater management; general municipal utility work, project and client management and participation in related business development activities. Experience with NH public sector clients is preferred and LPA certification is desirable.

This position will provide the opportunity to work directly with clients and advance a variety of civil and environmental projects focused on design services for water resources, commercial development, agricultural facilities, recreational facilities, and municipal infrastructure.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a key team member in the advancement of divisional projects.
  • Responsibilities will range from engineering design, cost estimating, preparing specifications, report writing, schedule and budget management, review of junior team member work, client coordination and other general project engineering and management duties.
  • Mentoring and workload management of junior staff
  • Conduct site reviews as needed for feasibility studies, planning, and design projects.
  • Study, design and construction of municipal infrastructure projects; including: utilities (stormwater, potable water, sanitary sewer).
  • Monitor compliance with applicable codes, practices, QA/QC policies, performance standards and specifications
  • Establish a working relationship with the other staff, and be an effective team member of the Public Works Division.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • S./M.S. degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering or related field
  • 3-8 years’ Civil or Environmental experience
  • New Hampshire P.E. preferred
  • Excellent knowledge of design and visualizations software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D or similar
  • Proficiency in site layout, grading, utility design, erosion control, regulatory approvals etc.
  • Understand the value of proactive communication, possess excellent written communication skills
  • Local community connections are helpful
  • Experience with NHDES permitting a plus

Public Works Engineering Project Manager

 

DuBois & King is currently hiring a Civil / Environmental Engineering Project Manager to join the Public Works Division. Our firm is looking to add a licensed civil or environmental engineer with 10+ years of experience who wants a team leadership role with growth potential. You will be mentored by the director of the division and you will serve as a mentor to junior engineers.

Responsibilities

  • Provide operational and project management support to the Regional Director
  • Provide management and technical development of a variety of civil projects with a strong emphasis on municipal and industrial water and wastewater
  • Develop business and build client relationships
  • Lead project teams in preparing conceptual, preliminary and final design and managing projects through construction
  • Oversee work, quality control, client coordination and all daily operational aspects of projects assigned to you
  • Prepare regulatory permit applications for a wide range of projects.
  • Prepare proposals, scopes of work, and project schedules that adhere to deadlines and budgets.
  • Mentor and train junior engineers on various project assignments
  • Share accountability with the other team members within the division

Minimum Qualifications

    • 10+ years of experience in Civil Engineering
    • BS/MS in Civil or Environmental Engineering
    • Civil or Environmental P.E. license in New Hampshire, or ability to obtain licensure by reciprocity
    • Experience with New Hampshire sector clients and regulations
    • Previous leadership and project management experience
    • Experience with NHDES permitting a plus
    • AutoCAD Civil 3D

Project Aviation Engineer

 

D&K is seeking a civil engineer with 5 – 15 years of civil and/or aviation engineering, based in our rapidly growing aviation division. Projects will vary and can consist of airport planning, infrastructure design such as runways and lighting systems, stormwater and drainage, pavement markings and site grading.

Key Responsibilities will include:

  • Your responsibilities may include engineering-based planning, directing, and monitoring construction phase assignments on a range of airfield projects.
  • You may also evaluate and analyze existing projects.
  • A working knowledge of FAA Advisory Circulars and/or Unified Facilities Criteria is ideal.
  • This position is expected to grow into a design team leader / project manager duties.

Desired skills

  • Minimum position requirements include a Professional Engineer License (P.E.), or the ability to obtain one within 12 months
  • Bachelors of Science in Civil Engineering (BSCE) degree or higher
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD / Civil 3D.

Plumbing Designer and Engineer

 

DuBois & King, Inc. is seeking an experienced plumbing designer with approximately 2-5 years of experience. This is a full time engineering position in our growing Mechanical Engineering Group. Our markets include healthcare, commercial, industrial, institutional, and government projects throughout New England. This position will be based out of our Bedford, NH office.

 Responsibilities

  • Preparing calculations under the supervision of an experienced engineer using current material and building codes and relevant design standards.
  • Ability to work in Revit to assist with the preparation of drawings and sketches including completion of redlines.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Conducting site visits to survey existing conditions or review project conformance with plans.
  • Flexibility with schedule to accommodate project requirements as necessary.

Minimum Qualifications

  • AutoCAD and Revit proficiency required and comfortable with engineering design software.
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in civil or structural engineering is preferred.
  • Strong technical skills combined with clear, concise written and verbal communication skills are important.

Professional Surveyor

 

DuBois & King is seeking a Licensed Surveyor looking for opportunities for growth to work with our growing survey team.

Responsibilities

  • Perform a variety of field survey procedures including linear topographic survey, boundary surveys, land record research and plan preparation, and construction layout
  • Taking an active role in client relations, researching land records, and preparing plans.
  • The position provides opportunities for regular participation in business development, staff growth and mentoring, and strategic planning.

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • 5 of relevant experience (though the firm is willing to mentor and train the right individual)
  • Active LS license, or the ability to obtain one in 12 months.
  • Ability to operate survey equipment; GPS, Total Station and Robotics is required. Preference will be given to applicants with leadership experience, strong communication skills, and a desire for growth including managing personnel as well as projects.
  • Experience with business development or public sector clients is preferred.
  • CAD Experience
