John Baumann
Senior Principal/Senior Vice President
With more than 40 years at D&K, John is an enthusiastic and dedicated D&K leader and the current Chairman of the Board of Directors. He served as the company’s Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer, as well as a senior managing principal of the firm for more than two decades.
John has been instrumental in building and directing D&K’s financial and administrative team and infrastructure. He began his professional journey as a staff accountant in D&K’s accounting department and progressed through the positions of Controller and Chief Financial Officer, with a steady focus on improving D&K’s overall financial and project management systems and capabilities while also driving the strategic growth of the firm. Throughout his tenure, he steadfastly developed and managed D&K into a strong financial position with the goal of keeping the company in the same financially independent position well into the future. In 2024, John was named Business Executive of the Year by the White River Valley Chamber of Commerce. In the fall of 2025, he stepped down as D&K’s Chief Financial Officer.

Fun fact: John is a nature-loving individual who spends a lot of his time outdoors in the woods building mountain bike/hiking trails and harvesting firewood. He is an avid skier but enjoys all forms of outdoor recreation throughout the seasons of Vermont. He also takes frequent trips to a secluded Caribbean island, where he spends time diving on reefs working on his underwater photography skills.
