Project Accountant

 

DuBois & King, Inc. is currently looking to hire a self-motivated Project Accountant to add to our accounting team in our Randolph office. This is a full-time position. Our ideal candidate is a positive team player, who is ready to jump into a fast paced department and is comfortable working with people from multiple divisions. This position will also be responsible for financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting as related to multiple projects. Salary dependent upon experience.

Responsibilities

  • Perform a variety of financial and administrative responsibilities, that include:
    • Accounting,
    • General ledger
    • Credit & collections
    • Auditing
    • Project management
    • Invoicing & contract billing
    • Financial statement preparation
    • Account reconciliations.

Qualifications

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is required
  • 7+ years of progressive accounting experience.
  • Strong email and telephone communications
  • Experience in the engineering or construction industry is a plus
  • Experience with Unanet AE is a plus
  • Understanding of GAAP
  • Experience with accounting software and Microsoft Excel, Word.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Senior Accountant/Assistant Controller

Responsibilities

  • Assist in preparing accurate and timely financial statements.
  • Assist with monitoring and analyzing financial data to identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Review and evaluate accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Collaborate with the finance team to streamline processes and implement best practices.
  • Support audits and regulatory compliance efforts to ensure adherence to industry standards.
  • Support the Controller in month-end and year-end closing activities

Qualifications

  • Understanding of GAAP

Civil Staff Engineer – Public Works

 

DuBois & King, Inc is seeking a Civil Staff Engineer with approximately 0-5 years of experience. This is a full-time engineering position with full benefits in our busy and growing Public Works division.

Responsibilities

  • Learning key engineering software, such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D and GIS programs/conventions.
  • Assist in the development and preparation of plans, specifications, and estimates.
  • Conduct site reviews as needed for feasibility studies, planning, and design projects.
  • Provide conceptual, preliminary, and final design civil engineering support for all divisions. These tasks are likely to include: investigation, research, calculations, evaluation of alternatives, and design development on a variety of projects.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Ability to work well with others in a collaborative team environment
  • B.S. degree in Civil Engineering
  • AutoCAD and  Civil 3D preferred

Construction Services Manager

 

DuBois & King is seeking a Construction Services Manager with 6 or more years of experience.  This is a full time position that can be based in our Vermont or New Hampshire offices.

Supervisory Requirements

  • Hire and supervise construction observation and field office staff
  • Develop and maintain team construction observation standards
  • Develop staffing plans and schedules to meet workload requirements, delivering quality service in compliance with client requirements and expectations
  • Be able to follow and adhere to all local, state and federal OSHA requirements
  • Provide advice to in-house design staff regarding constructability
  • Work collaboratively with other D&K staff, mentoring and training of junior staff to encourage involvement with design reviews, cost estimating, specification preparation, and promotion of construction phase services
  • Manage sub-consultants

Project Responsibilities

  • Perform construction phase administrator tasks such as:
    • Review work identified in the project drawings and specifications
    • Manage quality control of construction services
    • Manage bid phase activities
    • Manage submittal reviews
    • Review contractor payment applications and prepare change orders
    • Perform constructability and bid-ability revisions
    • Prepare documents for execution
    • Conduct preconstruction and biweekly meetings
    • Manage project closeout activities

Business Development Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain a solid working relationship with clients, including former clients and municipalities’ region-wide.
  • Perform networking activities.
  • Prepare agreements for construction phase services including determination of labor and reimbursable expense cost; Including fee development and negotiation of fees.
  • Prepare proposals in response to RFP’s for construction phase services
  • Contact and market construction phase services to communities, private enterprises, state and federal agencies.
  • Maintain and/or improve procedures/protocol for managing the construction services department.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 6-12 years of experience managing construction projects
  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher
  • Experience with public and private sector clients
  • Experience leading and managing a team
  • Willingness to travel up to 20% of the time
  • Strong writing and verbal skills

IT Help Desk Technician

 

DuBois & King is seeking a well-rounded full-time Help Desk Technician with 0-5 years of experience. We are seeking someone who is motivated and enthusiastic about joining the D&K Team.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with any computer or IT related issues
  • Assist users over the phone, in-person, and remotely using multiple platforms
  • Administration of Active Directory, Google Workspace, firewalls, email filters, backups, phone systems, mobile devices, and any other IT-related software
  • Google Workspace support setting up devices and email clients, tablets, mobile phones, and computers
  • Configure, deploy, and relocate desktops, laptops, printers, and any other related devices
  • Identify, report, and respond to potential cybersecurity threats
  • Set up and maintain advanced network firewalls and switches
  • Identify, troubleshoot, resolve, and document end-user system issues and requests
  • Ensure all requests are resolved promptly and with high-quality results
  • Provide technical documentation for configurations and procedures
  • Open and follow up with tech support from vendors such as internet providers, cloud solutions, consultants, etc.
  • More duties to be discussed that align with the candidates interests.

Required skills and experience:

  • Excellent communication and personal skills in English (speak, read and write)
  • Ability to organize, prioritize, and meet established deadlines
  • Experience in the set-up, configuration, and use of computer hardware, software, and networks
  • Ability to communicate technical issues to both technical and non-technical customers
  • Proficient in troubleshooting and supporting Windows and Google.
  • Quick analytic response to resolve issues in any situation
  • Self-motivated and willing to learn, as well as always find the solution
  • Able to work in a fast pace environment
  • Basic understanding of Cloud Solutions & Cloud Computing
  • Knowledge of wireless networks, set up maintenance and troubleshooting
  • Knowledge of video conference systems, cell phones, smartphones, iOS, iPadOS, and other common hardware devices and software
  • Experience providing remote support via phone and remote-control applications desired
  • The ability to work under pressure in a high-pressure environment with numerous tasks handled simultaneously
  • Be able to lift at least 50 lbs. individually
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and overtime, on an on-call rotation
  • The position will require travel between multiple customer locations within central Vermont & New Hampshire.
