Agriculture

D&K’s technical service providers plan and design infrastructure to reduce agriculture-based nonpoint source pollution, such as phosphorus and nitrogen nutrient-laden runoff. D&K partners with state and federal agencies and farmers to identify and implement agricultural best management practices to improve water quality. We develop projects in accordance with NRCS guidelines and are fully knowledgeable of state and federal regulations, including Accepted Agricultural Practices (AAP) and the Environmental Quality Incentives Program (EQIP).

Practices include the installation of structural projects, such as roofed barnyards and manure storage facilities; design of heavy use areas; development of appropriate waste transfer and treatment infrastructure and conservation buffers; interception of silage leachate for diversion to a storage and/or treatment system; and clean water diversion.
