Education

D&K provides planning, assessment, and design services for projects ranging from local schools to large, multi-campus institutions, such as independent and state universities and school districts. Our services include civil, environmental, structural, mechanical, and electrical engineering; survey; landscape architecture; and permitting assistance for site improvements and facility renovations. Projects comprise new and updated classrooms, dormitories, athletics facilities, parking, and water and wastewater management in urban and rural contexts.

Our team members partner with school staff, funding agencies, contractors, and communities to successfully advance projects to minimize disruption to occupied facilities, frequently phasing projects to be constructed during summer breaks. D&K engineers focus on minimizing operation, maintenance, capital, and energy costs and help schools design projects to meet LEED guidelines. Example projects range from school-wide assessments and new campuses to PFAS remediation and HVAC upgrades. Services also include assistance with grant applications and stakeholder engagement.
